This journal entry is loosely based on political ideology I have observed in societal interactions. I claim no expertise in these political systems. I do not doubt that a significant number of individuals hold philosophical foundations genuinely motivated by goodwill. However, I do not believe these systems currently exist to bring about the ‘greatest-good’ for anyone. I believe they have shifted from what could have very well been positive historical applications to what is now a mechanism used by the perceived many to control the few.
The rhetoric sounds something like this:
‘Because you have it and we want it.’ ‘Because we are all connected.’ ‘Because anything you can do I can do to and better than you (and you should want me to.)’ ‘Because you should want to share with me.’
Ah. Neo-liberal, progressive, democrat, leftist, collectivist, communist bullshit.
These movements function as extraction engines disguised as liberation projects. The marginalized communities they claim to champion are not the beneficiaries. They are simultaneously the cover story and the recruited militia. The people running these engines have downloaded the language without authentic conviction – buzzwords as camouflage for access-seeking. The hidden in plain view mission is to topple human potential and be handed others’ property (e.g., physical, intellectual, psychological, etc.) through emotionality without a fight. It is about gaining access to what individual freedom and liberty would otherwise protect.
They are openly – though distortedly – against both.
What Makes It Cross-Racial:
Membership in these movements is not extended exclusively to white or European descendants. The common denominator isn’t identity. It’s collective discontent looking for a vehicle. A black person shouting down another black person for supporting capitalism is running the same program as the aggrieved European descendant who missed the conquest. No matter the color of their skin, their income level or education–different costumes. Same hunger.
The Fetish Observation:
There is additionally a fetish-like fascination with others’ struggles operating at the center of these movements. This is the culture vulture dynamic at ideological scale. They don’t want to end suffering. Suffering is the medium through which they gain control and manufacture importance. Ending it would eliminate the access point. The advertised alignment with Black people, immigrants, people of color and LGBTQA+ communities are ploys orchestrated to build citizen militias–groups recruited and manipulated through a simple script: Look at everything being done to you. They are trying to stop you. I am your ally.
On The Mental Health Crisis Framing:
This is not simply a black-and-white issue. Neither is it solely an issue of mental illness or unfulfilled need. What I am describing is the downstream effect of a society that has systematically failed to develop its members into functional adults – emotionally, psychologically, spiritually. Those underdeveloped adults have banded together in movements that mistake collective noise for collective healing.
Mental retardation as I use it describes fundamental cognitive and developmental limitations. Mental health crisis describes what happens when that limitation goes unaddressed and gets organized around ideology instead of genuine development. Both are operating simultaneously.
This is a civilizational mental health crisis.
The Caveat:
Diagnoses are being used as shields against accountability. Against growth. Against a genuine reckoning with what a person actually is and what they are actually doing. This is the entry’s real argument. Not that these people are sick. But that the sickness has been given a flag and a movement.
What it ultimately signals is a depravity of spirit. An absence of humanity. A wickedness operating just below the surface of borrowed language and performative solidarity.
But, let’s focus on the physical and social manifestations of this.
